DPTV Interviews Julius T. Freeman (Documented Original Tuskegee Airman)

On Friday, August 29th 2014, DPTV Networks had the honor of covering an Exclusive Interview/ Q&A Session with distinguished Tuskegee Airman, Julius T. Freeman.

Mr. Freeman fought for the right to serve in World War II. However, he along with many other African American service men at that time, had to also fight a 2nd war {while on duty and on the home front} for a country that was inundated with segregation during the Jim Crow Era.

Julius Freeman has been issued a Congressional Gold Medal, has held the title of renowned Tuskegee Fighter Pilot and has played an integral part in building a positive image for all young men to follow. He is quoted as once stating:

“As long as there is breath in my body, I’m going to continue to tell the Tuskegee story” (J. T. Freeman, May 2013).

From the eyes of Mr. Freeman, we heard how many racially charged issues have changed – and as well, his take on how some issues have inherently remained the same.

This monumental event, was held at the Manhattan Neighborhood Network (MNN Firehouse) located at 175 E. 104th Street, New York, NY, and was hosted by DPTV Correspondent / Spoken Word Artist “LaChocolateBox”.
